Jackson Program Promotes Student Reading

by allison on October 14, 2013

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were on hand Tuesday, October 8th during the launch of the Salute to Reading program at three South Tampa elementary schools. During the assemblies held at each of the three schools, Jackson and the Bucs also announced the publishing of a children’s book written by Vincent Jackson and his wife, Lindsey.

Due out by the end of this year, Danny Deals with Deployment will be published by Mascot Publishing as a partnership between the Jackson in Action83 Foundation and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The main character of the book is a child in a military family named Danny DogTags who discovers his father is being deployed through the military. The goal of the book is to serve as a tool to help children and families discuss the sometimes difficult issues families face surrounding deployment.
